Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 39 year old Ossining man on an arrest warrant issued out of the Yorktown Justice Court, with the underlying charge of Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree, a Class "E" Felony.
According to Police, on August 12, 2021 PO Premuto responded to a Town of Yorktown address for the report of two vehicle tires which had been slashed. After further investigation, it is alleged that the defendant slashed two tires on a vehicle which belonged to the victim and were valued over $250. An arrest warrant was applied for and subsequently issued by the Yorktown Justice Court. On January 27, 2022 at about 7:00 AM, the Yorktown Police Department was notified by the Ossining Police Department that they had the defendant in custody on an unrelated traffic stop. Yorktown Police responded to Ossining Police Headquarters and took custody of the defendant for the outstanding arrest warrant. The defendant was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters where he was processed on the above charges. The defendant was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court before the Honorable Aviah Cohen-Pierson and was remanded to Westchester County Jail. The defendant is scheduled to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on February 8, 2022 at 5:30 PM. Comments are closed.
