Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 49 year old Mount Kisco man and a 29 year old Peekskill woman, both of whom are charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class "B" Felony. Additional, the male defendant is charged with Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, and Failing to Yield Right of Way, a Traffic Infraction.
According to police, on March 14, 2020 at around 11:45 pm, Yorktown Police Officer Premuto was on routine patrol in the area of Route 6 and the Taconic State Parkway. PO Premuto observed a vehicle fail to yield the right of way by making a prohibited right turn off of the Taconic State Parkway exit ramp onto Route 6. Officer Premuto conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on Lee Blvd. and identified the driver as the male defendant and the passenger as the female defendant. Further investigation at the scene was conducted, which included calling PO Campion and his partner, K9 Spar. K9 Spar, one of two Yorktown Police K9s certified in drug detection, quickly located a large quantity of Cocaine that was possessed by both defendants, as well as drug paraphernalia that was possessed by the male defendant. Both defendants were placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Following processing on the above charges the defendants were arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Salvatore Lagonia. The male defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail, as he was charged with a Felony and had two or more prior Felony Convictions. The female defendant was released on her own recognizance. Both defendants are due back in Yorktown Justice Court on April 7, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
