Yorktown Police report the arrest of a twenty-eight year old Katonah man, who is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle on an Electronic Device - No Hands Free, Unlicensed Operator and Unregistered Motor Vehicle, all Traffic Infractions, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor.
On November 24, 2018 at about 9:30 am, Officer Curtin was on routine patrol on East Main St. (Route 6) in the Mohegan Lake Business District. Officer Curtin observed a driver allegedly talking on a cell phone while driving and conducted a traffic stop. The operator of the vehicle was identified by name and a routine DMV check revealed that his driving privilege was suspended in New York State. Further investigation revealed that the driver was driving without a driver’s license and the vehicle was unregistered. The driver was arrested at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. The defendant was subsequently processed on the above charges and released on $100 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on January 3, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
