Yorktown Police report the arrest of a thirty-one year old Lake Peekskill woman, who is charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
On January 20, 2019 at about 3:06 pm, Yorktown Police officers responded to the Acme parking lot in Shrub Oak for a report of an infant left unattended in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located a seven month old child unattended in a parked vehicle. The infant did not appear to be in distress and the officers stayed with the child until its mother returned. After interviewing the child’s mother and conducting an investigation in the store, it is alleged that the defendant left the child unattended for ten minutes while she shopped. The defendant and the child were followed back to Yorktown Police Headquarters, where she was arrested and processed. Yorktown Police made a referral to Child Protective Services and the defendant was subsequently released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on February 19, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
