Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 42 year old Lagrangeville, New York man, who is charged with Suspended Registration, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and Operating Without Insurance, a Traffic Infractions.
On January 15, 2018 at about 10:15 am, Officer Peters was on routine patrol on Crompond Rd. operating a marked patrol vehicle equipped with an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR). The ALPR alerted Officer Peters that a commercial vehicle traveling in the opposite direction allegedly had a suspended registration. A traffic stop was conducted and the vehicle’s operator was identified as the defendant. It is alleged that the defendant was operating the vehicle while the registration was suspended for insurance not in effect. It is also alleged that the defendant was operating without insurance. The defendant was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on February 15, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
