Yorktown Police report the arrest of 28 year old Mahopac NY resident who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A Misdemeanor, Aggravated unlicensed operation, Suspended registration, (Unclassified Misdemeanors) and Illegal Tinted Windows (a traffic infraction).
On March 12, 2019 at approximately 19:10 PM P.O Hannigan was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle with alleged tinted windows he therefore initiated a traffic stop on Crompond Road. A routine check of the defendant's license revealed that his driver’s license and registration was allegedly suspended for insurance lapse. Further investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant was allegedly in possession of a quantity of heroin. The defendant was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. At Headquarters the defendant was processed on the above charge and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on April 11, 2019 at 6:00 PM for arraignment.
