Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 26 year old Fort Montgomery man, who is charged with two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Auto Accident and uninspected vehicle, both Traffic Infractions.
On March 20, 2018 at about 7:18 pm, Officer Hannigan responded to a leaving the scene auto accident on Route 6 at Strawberry Rd. Subsequent to the officer’s investigation at the scene, it is alleged that the defendant fled the scene of the accident and was driving while his driver’s license was suspended. On May 6, 2018 at about 4:45 pm, Officer Hannigan was on routine patrol in the area of Route 6 and Mountain Brook Rd, when he observed the defendant allegedly operating the same vehicle involved in the leaving the scene auto accident that occurred on March 20, 2018. Officer Hannigan initiated a vehicle and traffic stop and the driver was identified by his New State Driver’s license. Further investigation revealed that his NYS driving privileges were allegedly suspended. The vehicle’s Inspection sticker was allegedly expired as well. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. At Headquarters the defendant was processed on the above charges and released on $200.00 cash bail. He is due to back in Yorktown Justice Court on June 07, 2018 at 6:00pm Comments are closed.
