Man on Bicycle Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance

Yorktown Police Department reports the arrest of a 33 year old Mohegan Lake resident who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
 
On October 28, 2017, at approximately 11:58 PM, Yorktown Police received a call of a man on a bicycle swerving in and out of the roadway that may need assistance and P.O. Gregorio was dispatched to investigate.  An investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant was allegedly in possession of a quantity of Alprazolam which is a controlled substance.  The defendant was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters. 
 
At Headquarters the defendant was processed on the above charge and released on his own recognizance to a family member.  He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on November 30, 2017 at 6:00 pm.
