Yorktown Police report the arrest of a forty-two year old Middletown woman, who is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Using a Portable Electronic Device, a Traffic Infraction, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor.
On December 29, 2018 at about 9:40 am, Officer Curtin was on routine patrol on East Main St. (Route 6) in the Mohegan Lake Business District when he observed a female driver allegedly looking town at a cell phone while driving her vehicle in traffic. A traffic stop was then conducted at the intersection of Strawberry Rd. and the driver identified by her New York State driver's license. A routine driver's license inquiry revealed that the woman's operating privilege had been suspended for failing to answer a summons. The defendant was processed at the scene and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on January 29, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
