Mohegan Lake Woman Arrested After Refusing to Move Vehicle at Accident Scene

Yorktown Police report the arrest of 57 year old woman from Mohegan Lake, who is charged with Disorderly Conduct, a Violation, Failing to Use Designated Lane and Opening a Vehicle Door Unsafely Into Traffic, both Traffic Infractions.
 
On March 9, 2020 at approximately 6:24 pm, PO Caprio was investigating an unrelated traffic accident on Crompond Rd.  During the course of the investigation, the defendant crossed over the double yellow line, stopping her vehicle right in front of Officer Caprio.  The defendant opened her car door into traffic and blocked the traffic lane.  The defendant refused to move her vehicle from the roadway and obstructed vehicular and pedestrian traffic.  The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.
 
The defendant was processed on the above charges and was released on her own recognizance to a responsible third party.  She is due in Yorktown Justice Court March 26, 2020 at 6:00 pm.
