Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 35 year old Montrose man, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, a Class “C” Felony, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, a Violation, and Tinted Windows, a Traffic Infraction.
According to police, on August 16, 2020 at approximately 5:00 pm, Officer Hannigan was on patrol on Crompond Road when he observed a vehicle travelling westbound that allegedly had illegally tinted windows. Officer Hannigan conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and identified the operator as the defendant. While speaking with the defendant, it is alleged that Officer Hannigan detected the strong odor of Marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Following further investigation, it is alleged that the defendant was in possession of a quantity of Marijuana and a quantity of Oxycodone pills. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. The defendant was arraigned on the above charges by the Honorable Judge Raniolo and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail. The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 20, 2020 at 3:00 pm. Comments are closed.
