Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 53-year-old Peekskill man, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, a Class "D" Felony.
On February 1, 2022 at 5:11 PM, Yorktown Police received a report from a residential group home located within the Town of Yorktown that an employee, later identified as the defendant, allegedly submitted a forged COVID-19 vaccination card to their Human Resources Department. Officer Schmelmer responded to the facility and initiated an investigation. At the completion of the investigation it is alleged that the defendant did knowingly possess a forged COVID-19 vaccination card. Officer Schmelmer was able to speak with the defendant’s attorney and arranged for the defendant to respond to the Yorktown Police Department. On February 15, 2022 at 4:03 PM the defendant voluntarily arrived at the Yorktown Police Department and was placed under arrest by Officer Schmelmer. After arrest processing was completed, the defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Raniolo and was released on his own recognizance. He is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on March 8, 2022 at 6:00 PM. Comments are closed.
