Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 42 year old Yonkers man who is charged with Identity Theft 1st Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, both Class "D" Felonies, and Attempted Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, a Class "E" Felony.
According to Police, on February 4, 2020, at approximately 3:59 pm, PO Lizarzaburu and PO Madaus responded to Key Bank, 650 Lee Blvd for an attempted larceny in progress. An investigation by PO Lizarzaburu revealed that the defendant assumed the identity of another person by obtaining his personal information and by possessing a forged driver’s license and credit card while attempting to withdraw $8,800 from the victim's checking account. The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene and transported back to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. The defendant was processed on the above charges and arraigned by the Honorable Salvatore Lagonia, who remanded the defendant to Westchester County Department of Corrections without bail. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on February 11, 2020 at 06:00 pm. Comments are closed.
