Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 41-year-old male from Poughkeepsie, NY on two Arrest Warrants issued by the Yorktown Justice Court for failure to appear.
According to police, on June 2, 2021 at about 1:30 pm, Yorktown Police were notified by the Putnam County Sheriffs Office that they had the defendant in custody, who had two active Arrest Warrants in the Town of Yorktown. After further investigation, it’s alleged that the defendant failed to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on May 11, 2021 in reference to two separate cases. The defendant was previously arrested for petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. The defendant was released from the Putnam County Sheriffs Office and was taken into custody by Yorktown Police at 157 Bryant Pond Road in Putnam County. The defendant was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for arrest processing, where it was discovered that the defendant had an active warrant out of Orange County, NY. The defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Gary Raniolo, who released the defendant on his own recognizance on the Yorktown charges. The defendant was turned over to the Orange County Sheriffs Office in reference to their warrant. The defendant was instructed to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on June 15, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
