Putnam County Man Arrested After Being Seen Smoking "Crack" Cocaine in Mall Parking Lot

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 60 year old Mahopac man, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, a Class "D" Felony.
 
On August 1st, 2018 at approximately 2:20 pm, a plain clothes Yorktown Police Officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the Jefferson Valley Mall parking lot.  Officers approached the vehicle for further investigation and found the occupant to be smoking "crack" cocaine.  A search of the vehicle yielded more "crack" cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia.  The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Headquarters for arrest processing.
 
Tthe defendant was processed on the above charge and arraigned before the Honorable Gary Raniolo.  The defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 16, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
