Putnam Valley Man Arrested for Drugged Driving, Drug Possession Following Crash

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 30 year old Putnam Valley man, who is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor.
 
On August 09, 2018 at approximately 7:19 pm, Yorktown Police Officers were dispatched to East Main St. for a motor vehicle accident with a vehicle into a ditch.  Upon arrival, an investigation at the scene revealed that the driver of the vehicle was driving while impaired by drugs.  Further investigation revealed that the defendant was in possession of a quantity of Xanax.  The defendant was arrested and transported to Headquarters for processing.
 
The defendant was processed on the above charges and released on $ 100.00 cash bail to a responsible party.  He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on August 23, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
