Queens Man Arrested for Leaving the Scene of Car Accident with Injury

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 22 year old Ozone Park resident who is charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, a Misdemeanor.

According to police on July 1, 2019 at approximately 5:54 PM they responded to a personal injury auto accident on Route 6 and Barger St.  Officer Michael Pietraniello was dispatched to investigate.  His investigation revealed that a rear end collision had occurred and one of the vehicles had fled the scene North on the Taconic State Parkway.  In response to a BOLO the New York State Police were able to locate, and stop, the vehicle at the Bryant Pond Rd exit.  Officer Pietraniello responded to the scene where he completed his investigation and arrested the defendant for allegedly leaving the scene of the injury accident.

Following the arrest the defendant was processed at the Yorktown Police Department.  He was released on $100 cash bail to appear in Yorktown Court on August 1, 2019 at 6:00 PM.
