Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 46 year old Jamaica, NY resident, who is charged with Grand Larceny in the 2nd Degree, a Class “C” Felony.
On October 15, 2022 at about 3:25 PM, Yorktown Police were called to a business on Saw Mill River Rd. to investigate a larceny complaint. Officer Curtin was dispatched and met with the victim, who reported that $42,000 in cash and $10,000 in payroll checks had been stolen from his vehicle, which was parked in the parking lot of the business. Through an investigation by Officer Curtin, Officer Hannigan and members of the Yorktown Police Detective Division, they were able to identify an unknown suspect and an associated vehicle that allegedly were involved in the larceny. On October 28, 2022 at about 6:00 PM, officers from the Colony Police Department in the Albany area conducted a vehicle & traffic law stop on the vehicle that was associated with the Yorktown larceny. Through an investigation by the Yorktown Police Department and the Colony Police Department, one of the vehicle’s occupants was positively identified as the suspect from the alleged larceny. The defendant was taken into custody by Colony Police and subsequently turned over to Officer Hannigan and Officer Campion, who transported the defendant back to Yorktown Police Headquarters. The defendant was processed on the above charge and arraigned by the Honorable Aviah Cohen-Pierson. The defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash, $125,000 bond, or $250,000 partially secured bond. The defendant is due to appear at the Yorktown Justice Court on November 10, 2022 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
