Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24 year old Suffern man, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .08% or More, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, and Following Too Closely, a traffic infraction. Additionally, Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24 year old Mahopac man, who is charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest, both Class "A" Misdemeanors.
Police report that on September 24, 2020 at approximately 1:56 am, PO Houlihan responded to the area of Route 6 and Hill Boulevard for a report of a motor vehicle accident. An investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant, a 24 year old man from Suffern, NY, was allegedly driving while intoxicated and followed another vehicle too closely. While at the scene, a 24 year old Mahopac man allegedly obstructed governmental administration and resisted arrest by interfering with police by attempting to physically push past the officers conducting the DWI investigation and physically resisting attempts to be taken into custody. Both defendants were placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for arrest processing. Upon arrival at headquarters, a further investigation revealed that the first defendant allegedly operated his vehicle with a BAC of .08% or more. Both defendants was processed on the above charges and released on their own recognizance to a third party. The first defendant is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on October 8, 2020 at 6:00 pm and the second defendant is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on October 15, 2020 at 6:00 pm.
