Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 30 year old Yonkers, NY resident on the following charges; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a misdemeanor and Fail to Keep Right, a violation.
 
On August 10, 2019 at approximately 7:50 pm, P.O. Hannigan conducted a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway south bound on ramp from Route 202 for a vehicle that allegedly Failed to Keep Right.  The operator of the vehicle was identified by his New York State Drivers License. Following an investigation, it’s alleged that the defendant was in criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.
 
The defendant was arrested on the above charge, transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing. Following processing on the charges, the defendant was issued an appearance ticket, 1 traffic summons and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 19, 2019 at 6:00 pm to answer the charges.
