Trio Arrested for Possession of Stolen Merchandise Following Traffic Stop

 Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 51-year-old Yonkers, NY, resident, and a 30-year-old Mount Vernon, NY resident who are charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, both Class “D” Felonies, and a 22-year-old Yonkers, NY resident who is charged with Operating with a Suspended Registration, an Unclassified Misdemeanor.

On March 13th, 2024 at 07:29 PM, Officer Argiro conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway. While conducting an investigation, Officer Argiro discovered allegedly stolen merchandise within the vehicle, with a total value of over $3,000. YPD made contact with the owner of the merchandise, who verified that the merchandise was stolen. The owner also alleged that two of the above defendants had stolen the merchandise minutes prior to the traffic stop. The investigation also discovered that the vehicle’s registration was suspended.

The three defendants were placed under arrest, and processed on the above charges and released on their own recognizance.  Defendant #1 and #2 were arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Cohen-Pierson and are due to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on 04/04/2024 at 06:00 PM. Defendant #3 is due to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on 04/02/2024 at 06:00 PM.
