Yorktown Police report the arrest of two 19 year old Massachusetts residents, one man who is charged with Obstructing Government Administration 2nd, a Class A Misdemeanor and Improper Turn, a traffic infraction and another man who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a Class A Misdemeanor and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 3rd, a Class E Felony.
According to Police, on October 12, 2019 at approximately 10:12 PM, P.O. Hannigan was on routine patrol on Crompond Rd when he observed a vehicle allegedly make an improper left turn onto Crompond Road and a traffic stop was initiated. PO Hannigan made contact with the operator who allegedly took his car key, attempted to start his vehicle and flee the traffic stop. An investigation was conducted at the scene by P.O. Hannigan which revealed that the passenger in the car was allegedly in possession of a quantity Marijuana over 8 ounces. The passenger was also allegedly in possession of a quantity of a liquid controlled substance. The defendants were arrested and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. At Headquarters the defendants were processed on the above charges and released on their own recognizance. The defendants are scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice on November 14, 2019 at 6:00 pm.
