Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 30 year old Mahopac man, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Previous Conviction in the Last 10 Years) and DWI Blood Alcohol Content of .08% or More (Previous Conviction in the Last 10 Years), both Class "E" Felonies, as well as Crossing Road Hazard Markings, a Traffic Infraction.
On February 26, 2020, at approximately 2:24 am, Officer Premuto was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of East Main Street. Officer Premuto initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as the defendant. After an investigation on scene, it was determined that the defendant was driving while intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Upon further investigation at Yorktown Police Headquarters, the defendant was charged with having a B.A.C. of .08% or more. The defendant has a previous conviction for Driving While Intoxicated within the past 10 years, which elevated both charges to felonies. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and was released on his own recognizance to a responsible party.
