Yorktown Police report the arrest of a thirty-three year old Yonkers woman, who is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, and Fail to Obey a Traffic Control Device, a Traffic Infraction.
On May 21, 2018 at about 11:58 am, Lieutenant Graham was on routine patrol on Crompond Rd. near the entrance to Yorktown High School when he observed a vehicle being operated erratically. The driver of the vehicle allegedly failed to obey a traffic control device and nearly caused a traffic accident. Lieutenant Graham conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as the defendant. Investigation at the scene by Lt. Graham, Sgt. Scatola, PO Peters and PO Campion led to the defendant being arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. She was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters and searched by a female matron, who found a small quantity of Phencyclidine ("PCP") in the defendant’s pocket. The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters. She was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and subsequently charged with the above charges. She was later released to a responsible party on $250 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on May 29, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
