Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24 year old male from Yorktown, NY, who is charged with Assault in the 3rd degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor and Criminal Mischief in the third Degree, a Class "E" Felony.
According to Police, a call was received on April 7, 2019, at 3:38 PM, reporting an active physical altercation at Seven Eleven, 1949 Commerce Street. Sgt. Dillon, Sgt. Kolkmann, Officer Beyrer, and Officer Woodard responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. It was determined that the defendant struck the victim with a closed fist causing pain, bruising and swelling. The male also threw the victims cell phone, which was valued at $1,000, to the ground, causing it to break. The male was located at about 4:11 pm by Sgt. Dillon and Sgt. Kolkmann while walking on Crompond Road. He was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. He was processed on the above charges and was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Gary Raniolo, where he set bail at $3,500 bond or $1,500 cash. A Temporary Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim. The male could not post bail and was remanded to Westchester County Department of Corrections. He is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on April 11, 2019, at 6:00 PM. Comments are closed.
