Yorktown Police report the arrest of a a 28 year old Yorktown NY man, who is charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, both Class “A” Misdemeanors.
On November 8, 2018 at approximately 7:20 PM, Officers responded to a residence in Yorktown to investigate a report of a physical domestic dispute that occurred. Police conducted an investigation that revealed that the defendant threw a chair at the victim causing a physical injury. It is also alleged that the defendant applied pressure to the neck and throat using his hands making it hard for the victim to breath.
On November 9, 2018 at approximately 8:00 AM the defendant turned himself in at Yorktown Police Department where he was arrested on the above charges. The defendant was processed on the above charges, and arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Salvatore Lagonia. The defendant was served a Temporary Order of Protection and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on November 13, 2018 at 6:00 PM.
