Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 52 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Attempted Assault in the 3rd degree, a Class “B” Misdemeanor, and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
On December 7, 2020 at approximately 11:46 am, members of the Yorktown Police Department responded to a Yorktown residence to investigate a report of a domestic dispute. Following an investigation at the scene, it is alleged that the defendant threw a piece of furniture at the victim, allegedly in an attempt to cause physical injury. It is also alleged that the defendant disabled and broke a telephone, in an attempt to keep the victim from calling 911. The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. The defendant was processed on the above charges and arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Gary Raniolo. The defendant was served a Temporary Order of Protection and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on January 14, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
