Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 43 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, Attempted Assault 3rd Degree, a Class “B” Misdemeanor, and Harassment 2nd Degree, a Violation.
According to police, on August 9, 2020 at approximately 11:01 PM, Officer Palladino and several other officers were dispatched to a Yorktown residence on the report of a domestic incident. Officer Palladino located the victim and initiated an investigation. After an investigation was completed it is alleged that during an argument the defendant took the victim’s cell phone from her to prevent her from calling 911 for emergency assistance, threatened to kill the victim, obstructed the victim’s breathing by squeezing her neck with his hand, and struck the victim in the torso with a closed fist. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. The defendant was arraigned on the above charges by the Honorable Gary Raniolo, who issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim. The defendant was held on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM. Comments are closed.
