Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 48 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Petit Larceny and Unlawfully Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle, both Class "A" Misdemeanors, Driving while Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, along with numerous Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
Police report that on July 25, 2018, while at the Shell Gas Station located at 930 East Main Street, a Yorktown Police Officer observed the defendant steal several food items from the store and leave in a motor vehicle. The suspect's vehicle was spotted a short time later by PO Campion, who attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the defendant allegedly fled from the officer. After a brief pursuit, the defendant eventually stopped in a driveway of on Old Yorktown Rd (Route 132), where he was taken into custody without incident by the responding officers. Further investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant was Driving While Intoxicated. He refused to submit to a breath test and was in possession of a quantity of marijuana. The defendant was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. At Yorktown Police Headquarters, the defendant was processed on the above charges and released on $250.00 cash bail. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on August 9, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
