Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 31 year old Yorktown, NY, resident who is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor (2 counts), and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, a Violation.
According to police, on December 14, 2020, at approximately 6:49 PM, Officer Ellsworth and several other officers responded to a report of a two car accident on Underhill Ave. Upon arrival, officers located both drivers and vehicles and initiated an investigation. The defendant was identified as one of the drivers involved in the accident. At the completion of the investigation at the scene, it is alleged that the defendant was operating a vehicle while his ability was impaired by drugs. It is further alleged that the defendant unlawfully possessed Suboxone, Oxycodone and Marijuana. It is also alleged that the defendant failed to keep right and left the scene of a property damage auto accident. The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. After processing was completed, the defendant was issued traffic tickets for the above traffic offenses and an appearance for the above penal law offenses. The defendant was released on his own recognizance to a responsible adult and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on January 5, 2021, at 6:00 PM. Comments are closed.
