Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 20 year old Yorktown man on an Arrest Warrant issued by Yorktown Justice Court for Criminal Sale of Marijuana 4th Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor and Resisting arrest, a Class "A" Misdemeanor.
An investigation into drug sales by the Westchester Heroin and Opiate Task Force resulted in charges being filed for the defendant after he allegedly sold marijuana to another person in January of 2017. Officers made attempts to contact the defendant in regards to the incident, so that he could voluntarily surrender to police but he was uncooperative. A warrant was applied for and issued by the Yorktown Justice Court on 04/10/2018 for his arrest. According to Police, on 05/01/2018 at approximately 12:15 PM Officers observed the defendant riding a bicycle on Gomer St. and attempted to place him under arrest for the active warrant. The defendant physically resisted arrest before being taken into custody. The defendant was processed on the above charges and arraigned by the Honorable Judge Lagonia. The defendant posted $500 cash bail and is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on 05/24/2018. Comments are closed.
