Yorktown Officers Apply Tourniquet to Stabbing Victim, 25 Year Old Charged with Felony Assault6/17/2020
Yorktown Police report the arrest of a twenty-five year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Assault in the 1st Degree, a Class “B” Felony.
On June 15, 2020 at about 7:57 pm, Yorktown Police responded to a Yorktown residence to investigate a report of a person with a severe laceration. Several Yorktown Officers were dispatched and located a male severely bleeding from what appeared to be knife wounds. The Officers rendered emergency medical treatment, including the rapid application of a tourniquet to one wound and direct pressure on the other and were fortunately able to stop the bleeding. The victim was then transported to a local trauma center for further treatment. After further investigation, Yorktown Police allege the defendant stabbed the injured male during an altercation. The defendant was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. The defendant was processed at Yorktown Police Headquarters and later arraigned by the Honorable Gary Raniolo, who issued a Temporary Order of Protection in favor of the victim and remanded the defendant to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
