It is with profound sadness that I share with the public that Yorktown Police
Department Captain Kenneth Sgroi, age 37, passed away after a short illness, on January 2, 2023. Captain Sgroi leaves behind a wife and two young children, ages five and three. He was promoted posthumously to the rank of Captain on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

All past and future details regarding our brother Kenny has been or will be shared on the Yorktown Police Department Facebook page. Please consider sharing the donation sites listed below for Captain Sgroi's family. Captain Sgroi devoted his life to protect and serve his hometown community. It is my hope that our community will rally around the Sgroi family and the Yorktown Police Department. Outstanding cop. An even better man.
