The Town of Yorktown continues to be impacted by severe cold temperatures and the impacts of last night's strong winds. A warming center is currently OPEN at the Albert A. Capellini Community Cultural Center (1974 Commerce St.). The warming center will remain OPEN UNTIL AT LEAST 3:00 PM TODAY, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4th. A decision to leave the center open past 3:00 pm will be made this afternoon after evaluating the progress of electrical restoration throughout town. Please enter the warming center through the lower level of the Albert A. Capellini Community Cultural Center next to Yorktown Stage.
The warming center CAN ACCOMDATE pets. We ask that if you must bring a pet, the pet MUST be able to be controlled at all times. Dogs MUST be leashed at all times and cats MUST be in an appropriate cat carrier. As a reminder, please treat any downed wires as live wires. Do not touch downed wires and report them directly to your utility company if on private property or to the Yorktown Police Department if they are on public roadways. Intersections where traffic lights are without power should be treated as 4-way stop signs. Use extreme caution while proceeding through these intersections. Comments are closed.
