Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 39 year old Yorktown woman, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Resisting Arrest, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, Attempted Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, a Class "B" Misdemeanor, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Auto Accident and Refusal to take a Breath Test, both Traffic Infractions.
On April 26, 2018 at about 4:11 pm, Officer Ellsworth was dispatched to Crompond Road, to investigate a leaving the scene property damage auto accident. While conducting an investigation it was revealed that one of the involved drivers resided on Sunny Ridge Rd. in the Town of Yorktown. PO Hannigan responded to the location and observed the vehicle traveling on Sunny Ridge Rd. and initiated a vehicle and traffic stop. It’s alleged that the defendant was Driving While Intoxicated and refused to submit to a Breath Test. PO Ellsworth and PO Hannigan then attempted to place the defendant under arrest at the scene and she allegedly resisted arrest and was later put in the rear of a patrol vehicle. It’s further alleged that she caused minor damage to the patrol vehicle while being transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters. The defendant was additionally charged with resisting arrest and Attempted Criminal Mischief in the fourth Degree. The defendant was processed on the above charges and arraigned by the Honorable Judge Raniolo who set bail at $20,000 bond or $15,000 cash. The defendant was unable to post bail and was remanded to Westchester County Department of Corrections. She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on May 3, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
