On November 02, 2018 at approximately 1:10 am, P.O. Battista was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle which had only one working headlight and initiated a traffic stop. The defendant was identified as a 21 year old Carmel man. Further investigation on scene revealed that the defendant was driving while intoxicated, with an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08% or more. The defendant was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters and later released on $100.00 cash bail to a responsible party. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on November 15, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Then, on November 03, 2018 at approximately 4:04 am, Sgt. Rapisarda was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle which was being driven with no headlights and initiated a vehicle and traffic stop. The defendant was identified as a 28 year old Yorktown man. Further investigation on scene revealed that the driver was driving while intoxicated, had a BAC of .18% or more and had a previous conviction in the preceding 10 years, which elevates the DWI charges to felonies. He was additionally charged for driving with an expired license, expired inspection and expired registration. The defendant was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters, processed on the above charges and later released on $250.00 cash bail to a responsible party. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on November 15, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Finally, on November 4, 2018 at about 1:39 am, Sgt. Dillon, P.O. Garcia, P.O. Woodard and P.O. Rohr responded to a report of a multiple vehicle crash on Route 35 between Broad Street and Evergreen Street. Officers arrived to find a multiple vehicle crash with injuries. Initial investigation revealed three vehicles were involved, two of which sustained heavy damage. Further investigation at the scene revealed that one of the drivers had left the scene prior to police arriving.
P.O. Garcia located the driver, a 45 year old Yorktown man, a short distance away from the crash walking on Route 35, where it was quickly determined that he was driving while intoxicated. Investigation at the crash scene revealed that the defendant failed to keep right as well as moved from the lane unsafely, striking an on-coming vehicle. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing, where he was additionally charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Auto Accident and for allegedly operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08% or more. The defendant was processed and released on $100.00 cash bail to a responsible party. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on November 15, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24 year old Putnam Valley woman, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .18% or More and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3RD Degree, all Unclassified Misdemeanors, Open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and driving on the shoulder, both Traffic Infractions.
On November 01, 2018 at approximately 02:16 AM, Sgt. Rapisarda while on routine patrol observed a vehicle which was allegedly driving very slowly weaving in and out of the shoulder of the roadway. At that time a vehicle and traffic stop was initiated. The defendant was identified as the operator and further investigation on scene revealed that the defendant was allegedly driving while intoxicated with an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. It is further alleged that she was operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .18% or more and with a suspended license. The defendant was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters. Upon arrival at Headquarters the defendant was processed on the above charges and later released on $100.00 cash bail to a responsible party. She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on November 15, 2018 at 06:00 PM. |
