Yorktown Police report the arrest of four male defendants: a 17 year old from Putnam Valley, a 17 year old from Cortlandt Manor, an 18 year old from Mohegan Lake, and a 19 year old from Yorktown Heights, all of whom are charged with one count of Robbery in the 1st Degree, a Class "B" Felony.
On November 5, 2017 at approximately 5:50 pm, Yorktown Police received a 911 phone call reporting a dispute at a Wells Street residence. After responding to the scene, police were met by a male victim who reported that he had just been robbed by four males who had brandished several handguns while fleeing the scene. Members of both the Patrol and Detective Divisions conducted an on-going investigation over the course of several days, and on the evening of November 9th, with the assistance of the Westchester County Aviation Unit, three of the defendants were taken into custody without incident by a team of Yorktown PD officers. The fourth defendant was taken into custody at his residence on the morning of November 10th. All four defendants were processed at Yorktown Police Headquarters. The were all arraigned by the Honorable Gary Raniolo, who issued a Temporary Order of Protection for the victim. The 17 year old from Putnam Valley and the 18 year old from Mohegan Lake were remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail. The 19 year old from Yorktown Heights was released on $10,000 cash bail and the 17 year old from Cortlandt Manor was released on $1,000 cash bail. All of the defendants are due back in Yorktown Justice Court on November 14, 2017 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a twenty-five year old Mohegan Lake resident, who is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
On November 9, 2017 at about 12:24 pm, Yorktown Police received a 911 call reporting a small child left unattended in a vehicle in the CVS Parking Lot, 2000 Commerce Street. Officer Battista and Det. Lewis, who happened to be in the vicinity, quickly arrived and located an eighteen-month old girl alone in a vehicle. The officers were able to unlock the vehicle through an open window and safely remove the child, who was crying but unharmed. After several more minutes, the responding officers located the defendant, who was working as a nanny for the child. After conducting a further investigation, it is alleged that the defendant left the child unattended in the vehicle for approximately eleven minutes while she shopped inside CVS. The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters. The child was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters by Det. Lewis and turned over to her mother. The defendant was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court by the Hon. Gary Raniolo, who issued a Temporary Order of Protection and set bail at $250 cash. The defendant was later bailed out and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on November 30, 2017 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 22 year old Peekskill resident, who is charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana Fifth Degree, a Class "B" Misdemeanor, Speed in Zone, a Traffic Infraction and Unlicensed Driver, a Traffic Infraction.
According to police, on November 6, 2017, at approximately 9:20 pm, Officer Beyrer and his K-9 Partner "Dallas" were on routine patrol on Route 6. Officer Beyrer observed a vehicle that was travelling above the posted speed limit on Route 6 and a traffic stop was conducted. After making contact with the driver, Officer Beyrer and K-9 "Dallas" began conducting an investigation at the scene. K-9 "Dallas" quickly located 39.5 grams of marijuana that was concealed in the vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing on the above charges. Following processing, the defendant was released on $200.00 cash bail. The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on December 7, 2017 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 16 year old Yorktown male who has been charged with Criminal Possession Of A Controlled Substance In The 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
According to police on October 31st, 2017 at approximately 10:00 am, Yorktown High School Resource Officer Doerr reported investigating a drug complaint within Yorktown High School. As a result of the investigation, it is alleged that the 16 year old male allegedly possessed 5 Clonazopam (Klonopin) pills, a Schedule (IV) Controlled Substance, while at school The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters. Following processing on the aforementioned charge, the male was issued an appearance ticket directing him to answer said charge in Yorktown Court on November 30th, 2017 at 6:00 pm. The male was then released on his own recognizance to a parent. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a twenty-two year Yorktown Heights resident who is charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a Violation, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Mobile Phone and Passing a Steady Red Traffic Signal, both Traffic Infractions.
On October 30, 2017 at about 12:48 pm, Chief Noble was out on routine patrol on Old Yorktown Rd. at the intersection with Crompond Rd. Chief Noble observed a vehicle pass a steady red traffic signal, nearly causing a motor vehicle accident. The Chief followed the vehicle and observed that the driver was talking on a cell phone while driving. Chief Noble conducted a traffic stop on Crompond Rd. near Yorktown Police Headquarters. Further investigation by Chief Noble and PO Nicholson revealed that the defendant was driving with a suspended license and had a quantity of marijuana in his vehicle. The defendant was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters, where he was processed on the above charges and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on November 30, 2017 at 6:00 pm. |
